Apply for a birth, marriage or death certificate
Births, Deaths and Marriages registers and maintains Tasmanian birth, death, marriage, relationship and change of name records. It also issues certificates and provides information to approved applicants.
The Registry creates and preserves records of Western Australian births, deaths, marriages and changes of name. Eligible customers are able to apply for certificates from these records to be used for a range of legal, personal and historical purposes.
If you're going overseas to get married, you may need an Australian Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage (CNI) proving that you're free to marry. The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) can issue CNIs. To apply for a CNI, you and your partner need to provide supporting documentation. At least one person applying for the CNI must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Criminal Record Certificates
The AFP provides National Police Checks. Applications may be made online for residents of the Australian Capital Territory, Australian immigration purposes , where the applicant resides overseas , overseas employment , visa applications for overseas travel.

A National Police Certificate (NPC) contains a list of a person’s disclosable court outcomes and pending charges from all Australian police jurisdictions. This includes traffic and non-police prosecuted matters.
