Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates

Applications for copies of Birth Certificates for persons born in Israel can be submitted online or by post. The certificate will be issued within 5 days and will be posted to the address you have registered in the population registry. Certificates are available in Hebrew and English. You can request a birth certificate for yourself, a spouse, your children or your parents.

You can request a death certificate if you are a first degree relative.

Change of Name Certificates can be obtained by Israeli citizens and residents who are registered in the population registry, and who have changed their name. Certificates can be requested by post.

This service provides information on submitting an application to locate the bureau in Israel where a marriage certificate was issued, in order to access the local marriage bureau and receive a copy of the certificate (in Hebrew). Search requests can be submitted online or by email.

Company Certificate of Status (In Hebrew)

A status certificate (certificate of good standing) is an official certificate from the Companies Unit attesting to the legal status of the company (active, in liquidation, liquidated or deleted). The certificate includes the name and identification number of the corporation, date of registration and current status in the registry. The certificate is available in Hebrew and also in English if the corporation has a registered English name. The Certificate can be ordered online through the Government online system.

Israeli citizens and foreign nationals can use this service to request a certificate of Good Character from Israel Police. Israeli citizens can apply online. Foreign nationals can apply in Israel at a police station or abroad at an Isreali embassyExternal link (opens in new tab)
The certificate will be issued in Hebrew and English and will confirm the existence or absence of a criminal record in Israel. Details of any criminal convictions will be given in Hebrew only. The application processing time is about one month.

By law, the certificate cannot be issued directly to the applicant, and will be sent directly to the body that is eligible to receive it (embassies, consulates, Ministry of Welfare). The certificate will be sent to foreign missions in Israel or, in the case of countries without a consular presence in Israel, the certificate can be sent to the embassy of a third country.
