Certificates for birth, deaths and marriages occurring in the city of Budapest can be obtained from the Budapest Department of Citizenship and Civil Status (Állampolgársági és Anyakönyvi Főosztály).
Hungarian Criminal Record Certificates (Certificate of Good Conduct or Extract from the Judicial Record) may be obtained online with Ügyfélkapu registration, by mail or in person at the Customer Service of the Criminal Records Authority in Budapest (Ministry of the Interior).
Hungarian Police Certificates may also be obtained from abroad by applying at your nearest Hungarian Embassy Certificates are valid for 90 days.
