Can Malaysian documents be legalized by Apostille?
Malaysia is not a member of the Apostille Convention and does not issue Apostille stamps. Malaysian documents legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs need additional authentication by the embassy of the destination country in Kuala Lumpur before they can be used.

What types of documents can be legalized in Malaysia for use abroad?
Official documents that can be legalized in Malaysia include:
- Malaysian birth, death, marriage certificates
- Certificates of Good Conduct (criminal record/police certificates)
- Court documents
- University and academic diplomas
- Trade documents, including Certificates of Origin and Free Sale
- Documents issued by Federal and State Government (including Ministries and Local Governmental Departments)
