Can UAE documents be legalized by Apostille?
No - the United Arab Emirates is not a member of the Apostille Convention and does not issue Apostille stamps. Documents legalized by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs need additional authentication by the embassy of the receiving country in Abu Dhabi before they can be used abroad.

How can I obtain my UAE Criminal Record Certificate to use abroad?
Police Clearance Certificates from the United Arab Emirates may be obtained by citizens, residents and visitors. Applications may be submitted online (Applicants without an Emirates ID should visit a police service centre to take fingerprints). Certificates are available in Arabic or English.

How can I obtain a copy of a UAE birth, marriage or death certificate?
Authenticated copies of UAE birth and death certificates may be obtained from Emirates Health Services. A copy of the original certificate must be provided. Copies of birth certificates may also be obtained in person (or through an authorised representative) at the Abu Dhabi Department of Health, Dubai Health Authority or Emirates Health Services.
Copies of UAE marriage certificates can be obtained from the Marriage Archives Section of the Sharia Court.

Birth, death and marriage certificates issued in the United Arab Emirates can be legalized in the UAE by the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs and then at the embassy of the receiving country in Abu Dhabi.
